Who Loves Coloring?

I have another Stamp Set for my Wish List Wednesday Post.

Ribbons Galore

Hi Stampers,

This week's wish list item is a little different. I usually feature items that are on my wish list but in truth 99% of my wish list consist of the AMAZING projects that are featured in the SU Idea Books and Minis. I see the fun things they feature and I want them! This ribbon wreath is just about my most favorite project featured in the whole Idea Book maybe ever! (Was that proper English?? I don't know it doesn't look right but I'm just so excited about this project I don't even care if I said that right!)

  

The project is featured on page 190 of the 2010-11 Idea Book. It kicks off the ribbon section of the catty. (That's one of my favorite sections) This project is on my list and when I get one made up I'll share it with you all!

Pencil Shaped Card Template

I decided to include a few different sizes for this template. So in addition to the 6 x 2-1/2 card size you see here, I've included a Jumbo and a Small pencil. I though those sizes would be fun for scrapbook layouts and other paper craft projects!

Back to School - Pencil Card

It's back to school time for most of the schools around here and that's what inspired me for this week's ColorLab color challenge!

Don't you think this would be a fabulous card to make a set of as a teacher gift? I think my teachers out there would LOVE to send quick little notes out in a card like this :)

This was the inspiration I found for this week's color challenge. As soon as I saw it I knew I not only wanted to be inspired by the colors, I wanted to be inspired by the pencil and create a pencil card.

So I stared at a pencil for a long time! :) Then I pulled out my graph paper and started sketching, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in the end!!

I know you're all going to be asking - I'm working right now on converting my sketched template into a printable template for you! I'll hopefully have it up in a day or two!

I'm thinking I might have to play come more with this template and come up with a colored pencil card for my artist friends

Chalkboards for the Wall - Get Organized

Today's wish list item is the Chalkboard Decor Elements - I love them all! There are Owls, Clouds, Labels, and so much more. Most of these are not that new, they've been out for a while... but what is new is the Curly Label and Simple Sign chalkboard and the calendar, notes, and chore charts that fit inside of them. When I saw these in the new Decor Elements catalog I got so excited! I'm looking for the perfect spot to put the notes and calendar and as soon as I have that spot picked out I'll be putting an order in!

 

I'm thinking about putting the "Things to Do" sign up on our refrigerator. We currently have a white dry erase board up there to write our notes for the Grocery list and it's not very pretty - A fun decorated Decor Elements sign would be so much better on the fridge! :)

Organize Your Stampin' Sponges

Just after the Stampin' Up! convention this year I met up with my girls who went this year for some coffee and they got to show off some of their swaps and projects. It was tons of fun to talk about the things they learned at convention.

While I was there I snapped a few quick pictures of some of their swaps so I could remember the ideas. One of my favorite ideas they received as a swap was this fun way to organize your Stampin' Sponges.

 

You'll have to forgive me for the picture quality on these - I was taking quick snap shots and we didn't have fabulous light :) but at least you'll get the idea! I don't know who this swap came from but whoever it was thanks for sharing this fun idea!!

To keep track of which color was used for each sponge:

• Cut the big Stampin' Sponge into pieces (I think to cut mine into 4 pieces)
• Use the Round Tab Punch to punch out a piece of card stock the same color as the ink you're going to use.
• Attach the Tab to the sponge using Glue Dots or a Staple.
• Decorate the Tab (A cut out SU logo was used for this one but you could easily stamp and punch out decorations to make it pretty)

That's it you're ready to sponge - the tab makes a nice handle which will help to keep your fingers clean (a nice bonus) and you'll remember exactly which color you used on your sponge - no more mixing colors up!!

The Stampin' Sponges are $3.50 per package of three. If you cut the sponges into 4 segments you'll get 12 colors out of one package! and even more if you like to work with a smaller sponge - that's a GREAT deal!! Go check them out in the SU Store.

Fun Funky Owl Card

Hi Stampers! I'm back with another ColorLab color challenge card! When I picked out this weeks inspiration for the color challenge, Fun and Funky is what came to mind immediately! 

The Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue accented with Early Espresso and set on a Whisper White background create a Trendy color pallet and the dots of color make a very funky chair.

So I figured the best stamp set to create a Funky card with is Funky Four. We used this set last Saturday at Stamp Camp, but this card has a totally different look and feel from the Stamp Camp card - I LOVE when inexpensive stamp sets can create lots of different looks on projects. Big Bang for your buck!

I wanted a lot of Whisper White on this card like the chair in the inspiration but I didn't want it to look too plain so I added the layer of Square Lattice embossed card stock. It's a nice way to add texture but keep the color simple.

The layout for this card came from another sketch (It's really fun to use sketches to create cards - it helps you find somewhere to start but you still get to be creative and come up with your own look to the card! This sketch came from Sketch This card sketch 44 . I liked how this sketch had a similar feeling to the pattern on the chair in the inspiration picture!

A Stamp Set Made for Knitters!

I've been getting a LOT of positive feedback from all of you on my Wish List Wednesday posts. Everyone seems to really be enjoying hearing about my Stampin' Up! wants! So I'm going to keep it going for a while.

This week the wish list item I'm sharing with you is another stamp set - I let out a great big squeak of delight when I saw this set in the book - I love knitting and crocheting and I love sheep with yarn coming off of them. Just before the new book came out I was telling my Mom that I wish I could find a stamp set somewhere that I could use on our Knitting projects! It's like SU read my mind. This set is on it's way to my house right now - it's on the UPS truck and will hopefully be here soon and I can't wait to start stamping with it. If you're a knitter this would make a great addition to your wish list!
