Rachel,

Your book looks REALLY interesting - it's on my MUST READ list now!! Thanks for the compliments on the bookmarks! I never though of contacting the Authors but that's a really great idea!!

I've never tried starching the ribbon to make it a little stiffer - It's a good idea I'll have to try sometime - I'm thinking for this style book mark where it flips over the cover of the book that spray starch might be a better choice - something to stiffen the ribbon a bit but still let it be flexible - I think liquid would make it REALLY stiff - but that would be fun for just a straight bookmark!

Thanks for the ideas!

Hi Julie, I found your blog via Splitcoast Stampers. I used to be a SU demonstrator but now I'm a romantic suspense/cozy mystery author. I was looking for cute "anything but a card" ideas to make and use as prize give aways on my FB page, blog, and guest blog appearances. Saw your ribbon bookmarks and FELL IN LOVE! Seeing that you won the books from a Review Blog, I'm wondering if you thought of contacting the author(s) and telling them what you made? I'm betting they'd love to know, and see them, I know I would if they were my books! Who knows, it might lead to more freebies or recognition (and advertising) for your work on their blogs and fan pages.
Happy Stamping!
Oh, I'm wondering, have you ever thought of starching the ribbon a bit? I'm thinking a soak in liquid starch might give the marker a bit more body ...

wow, that is such a good idea and I am going to try it! Thank you! (fellow demo)
